About Dr. Phil Smith

Phil is a medically qualified doctor who specialises in acupuncture. He holds both a postgraduate qualification in General Practice and a diploma in acupuncture.

Phil studied medicine in Bristol which is where he completed his training in General Practice.

Phil previously worked in Buckinghamshire and in New Zealand and briefly Australia before joining a practice in North Bristol where he still works when he is not consulting in acupuncture. Phil has been a chairman of a local out-of-hours cooperative, and a trainer in general practice.

Although a colleague kindled an intrigue with acupuncture back in 1984 it wasn’t until May 1999 that Phil commenced his training in acupuncture and in September 2004 successfully completed a Diploma in Medical Acupuncture with the British Medical Acupuncture Society.
